ICCR Foundation Day 2019

The High Commission of India, Dhaka is organising "ICCR Foundation Day" on 9th April 2019 to mark the day in 1950 when Indian Council for Cultural Relations( ICCR) was founded by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Independent India's first Education Minister. Its main objectives are to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries.

The Cultural Centre set by ICCR named Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre( IGCC) facilitates performance of Indian Artists in Bangladesh and performance of Bangladeshi Artists in India.

IGCC holds regular classes by expert teachers from India in the field of Yoga, Classical Music and Hindi.

More than 3000 Bangladeshi nationals have availed Scholarships under ICCR’s various Scholarships Schemes which offer scholarships at all levels from undergraduate to post Doctoral in all disciplines except medicine. Apart from General Scholarships ICCR also offers various Scholarships under ITEC Scheme, Ayush and Guru Shishya Parampara.
