  IGCC is organising an evening of Ghazals by Mr. Aloke Kumar Sen on 10 April 2018 at 6.30PM at Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka.

 

  Aloke Kumar Sen is a well known Classical Vocalist and Ghazal artiste of Bangladesh. Born in a musical family, he was initiated to music by his parents, Bhim Sen and Shantana Sen, both renowned Jatra artistes.  In his early years he learnt classical and semi classical music under Badal Kumar Pramanik for seven years (2000-2007). He also got specialized training from Aminul Islam Babu. In 2005, he was awarded Ananya Maan in Jessore. He has received several prizes in music competitions at National Level.  

  Aloke is a Gold Medalist in M. Mus and First Class First in B Mus from Department of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music, Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology, Dhaka. Since 2008, he has been receiving training in the classical genre from noted classical vocalist guru Anil Kumar Saha(Dhaka) and Pt. Tushar Dutta(India). He is also fortunate to have tutelage from legendary classical vocal maestro Padmashree Ustad Rashid Khan.

  He is an ‘A’ grade artiste (Classical music) in Bangladesh Betar and in BTV, enlisted ‘A’ grade Nazrul Sangeet artiste in Bangladesh Betar and also regularly performs in various other channels in Bangladesh and India.  Aloke is equally versatile in other genres of music like Bhajans, Modern Bengali songs and Ghazals.

  Aloke Kumar Sen has performed in many prestigious programmes including ‘Begum Akhter festival’ in India organized by ICCR in 2014; ‘Mati Ke Rang’ festival organized by Government of India in Nagaland; Ghazhal Program organized by British Council, Dhaka;  Performance in SAARC Summit organized by Bangladesh Government in 2013 in Dhaka;  Chhayanat Classical conference, Dhaka; Annual Classical Conference organized by Suddha Sangeet Prasar Goshthi in 2014 ; Annual Classical Conference organized by BAFA in 2012;  Annual Conference organized by Surodhara, Kolkata 2016; Ragpradhan Bangla songs organized by Bengal Foundation, Dhaka in 2016.  Also he has presented Ghazal songs in many programmes organised by the High Commission of India, Dhaka. 

  All are cordially invited to attend the programme. Entry is open to all (there is no need to collect Invitation Pass).
