India,  in association with  Bangladesh,  Pakistan,  Nepal  and  Sri  Lanka, will  hold the 36th session of the International Geological  Congress  (lGC)  in  Delhi-NCR  during  2-8  March,  2020.  The  event  will  be  held  in  the  state-of-the-art convention  centre -India  Expo  Centre and  Mart,  Greater  Noida.  Described  as the Olympics of Geosciences,  the lGCs are a prestigious global geoscientific event held quadrennially, under the aegis of the International Geological Sciences.    The  36th  lGC  is  being  funded  by the  Ministry  of  Mines  (MOM)  and  Ministry of  Earth  Sciences  (MOES), Government of India, and supported by the Indian  National Science Academy (INSA) and the science academies of the co-host countries. Geological survey of India is the nodal agency for organizing the event.
