Sub: e-ITEC Capacity Building Programme on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

            The High Commission of India, Dhaka is pleased to inform that Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RISDC), New Delhi is conducting an e-ITEC Capacity Building Programme on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from 05-09-2022 to 16-09-2022.

Aim & Objective: In this training programme participants would be given a comprehensive orientation of the SDGs to help them comprehend the essence and inter-connects of sustainable development in their development plan in a holistic manner. The emphasis would be to make the participants understand the three dimensions social, economic and environmental along with technical features of the Agenda 2030 and their application in national contexts. The training programme seeks to expose the participants to the nuances of the sustainability debate. Programme would focus on local challenges and opportunities for implementation of SDGs in sub-national strategies, regional context and their integration globally.

The programme emphasises on specialised areas like formulation of local plans, creating knowledge and information base (data and indicators) and tools for assessment. The programme would also encourage online interaction among participants as groups about issues and the way forward for implementing the SDGs by 2030.

Mode of Evaluation: Each participant is expected to make an online power point presentation on a subject relevant to the programme, an assessment would be made on this basis.

Qualification: Minimum Under Graduation

Work & Experience: Experience in international trade/ environmental economic/ development/ diplomatic assignments related to trade and sustainability/ south-south cooperation/north-south cooperation

Target Group:  Officials/ professionals having at least 5 years experience in international trade/ environmental economics/ economic development/diplomacy /trade and sustainability/ south-south and north-south cooperation

      • Agenda 2030: rationale, concepts and contours in the wake of Pandemic
      • Analysis of inter-sectoral linkages among the goals
      • Means of Implementation of SDGs: challenges and opportunities and their integration at         national, regional and global level
      • Follow-up and review of SDGs and the Voluntary National Review Process
      • Indicator framework and strategic planning on each Goal
      • Designing the strategies for localization of goals
      • Sharing the national strategy and accomplishment on SDGs
      • Evaluation of local challenges, formulation of plans, creation of knowledge and   information base and tools for assessment
      • Role of states, businesses, civil society and academia in the implementation of SDGs
